January 16, 2024 - Definitely past peak. Not much primary fruit concentration left. Cherry and mint on the nose. Tannins feel largely resolved.

September 27, 2017 - Cellared at 55 since early acquisition so ymmv. Dull med dark blackish ruby - cloudy unfiltered appearance- generous complex Cote Rotie nose of smoked meat, soy, tobacco, iron and earthy minerals bouyed on clean floral background - tart enough acids and nice polished but ample spicy tannins keep the flavors and aromas bouncing around the palate. The wine is so balanced and delicious I swallowed slowly and reticently. Hats off to Neyer for this monument. Wish I had more.

September 23, 2014 - Smells like an old bordeaux at first with leather and dried fruit aromas. As it opens the syrah comes out, and shows more primary dark fruits, pepper, blackberry, a little V.A. Palate is dense and stil full. Blazing acidity keeps this wine taught and brings out a serious citrus note that cuts the ripeness. Pretty complex stuff as it turns from tertiary to primary to red fruits to citrus and almost stone fruits at the same time. Cool wine.

October 22, 2011 - Fall Fest Wines (Larry's): Some liked this more than I. Plenty of fruit left; black raspberries. I found it overly acidic to the point of being an issue. Still, it showed much better than I would have expected. I wonder how this drank in its youth.
