October 7, 2017 - Superripe secundary fruit. Begint heel lichtjes tertiaire aroma te ontwikkelen.

May 4, 2017 - The real red fruit to the nose, a lofty leaf/tea note. Orange rind to the palate, and still significant medium tannin.
In a very nice spot for enjoyment of drinking.

February 29, 2016 - P&P'd with sausage marinara pasta. Funky barnyard on opening blew off to reveal sweet candied cherries and intense pipe tobacco, along with scattered wild herbs, violets, roses, and cherry blossoms. The palate is medium, round, rustic, and tangy, delivering Manhattan cherries, raspberries, orange rinds, dried leather, soy sauce, espresso, and more sweet tobacco into the dusty finish. Good frame and nice balance with some potent tannins, this should be in a nice window through at least 2020.

October 31, 2014 - Unlike bottle from 1.5 years ago, this nose is big. And (weirdly) it is like a barolo -- because a tarry note dominates, along with dark cherries. The palate is chewy, tart, dark cherries. Also quite a hit of tannins that carries on for a while. I think this is the last year for this vintage -- AT or passing over its peak.

March 22, 2014 - Opened and decanted 3+ hours before a dinner of rich chicken cacciatore and mixed Mediterrenanen salad. Super intense aromas of tobacco on opening eventually blew off to mild, sweet tobacco, musty earth, dark cherries, green raspberries, mocha, chocolate, and a variety of intense baking spices. The medium-to-full-bodied palate is smooth, silky, and full of lush cherries, more tobacco, leather, wet clay, coriander, nutmeg, cinnamon, lavender, and scattered notes of Arabian herbs and spices. This flows into a very lovely, lingering finish of tangy strawberry notes, soft, delicate tannins, and a hard rail of acidity that is still holding this wine together nicely. In peak window so drink now-2020.
