February 14, 2011 - Objectively, merits about 87 points, but pleased me so much more than that. In other words, this has its flaws - doesn't have great depth to the fruit, or length on the finish, etc... but what it brings to the table is a great snapshot of what is terrific about red burgundy - lively acidity, flashes of dewy sweetness to the fruit, a nice bit of earthiness to anchor it. Many New World pinots of much higher price struggle to put those things together in one package, and I was able to pick this up for $13! Terrific for a bourgogne. 87, with a big ++ for value.
