July 17, 2014 - A very dark ruby colored wine, with black raspberries, black plum and black pepper on the palate. This wine has soft tannins and few tertiary flavors. It's an uncomplicated and easy drinking wine. It also hasn't developed any tertiary characteristics since I last tasted it, so consider this wine best consumed now or in the near future.

February 9, 2013 - Brought this back from the winery visit, 2011. Inky purple color; full bodied. Blueberries and spice nose. Fruit palate, with no overt complexity. Overshadowed by CA '07 Rocket Science.

February 4, 2009 - Very opaque violet and garnet. Nose was nice, dark blue fruit, cinammon, a little funk. But, unfortunately the fruit did not carry over on the palate, a bit absent, with the mid palate carried by all spice, tar, oak/vanilla before the tannins kicked in and it finished out bone dry. I think this may have been a bit closed down with the way the fruit behaved despite being decanted for 14 hours. Otherwise, it was also a bit out of balance with the heat overwhelming the finish.
