November 26, 2013 - Deep yellow gold, the bouquet shows gunflint, honey/beeswax, clay, wet chalk and apricot. Compelling entry, this full-bodied Chenin deliver a clean, bracing, direct acidity that broadens throughout the palate. There is some richness in the mid-palate to counter and flavours of wet dog, cotton wool, honey and wax showing casing the Loire attributes. A long length with some tertiary notes lingering, the finish shows quince, custard apple, butterscotch and cracked sugar. As the wine opened, there were more of the latter so I dropped a point.

November 24, 2011 - Medium gold in color with aromas of honey, apple, minerals and a touch of white flowers. Rich and fairly full-bodied with good depth and concentration on the palate. Nice acidity to balance the richness. Good length with a mineral-laden finish. While it doesn't seem like this will improve with further bottle age, it seems like it should be able to hold up for a number years still.

November 19, 2011 - Still very good, especially with Kumamoto oysters fresh from Hog Island. Beautiful golden color, full mouthfeel - almost viscous. Lemon, flowers, granite.

November 16, 2011 - Deep yellow. Funky, spirity smell. Rich, high acid. The essence of Joly Savennieres weirdness.

May 22, 2009 - The bouquet is a bit locked. Fresh apple, minerals. Not such a great concentration. Could be the vintage, but I have tasted a lot of Loire wines lately which are much better.
