August 27, 2014 - Opened I hour before drinking and enjoyed the wine a great deal but it fell a little short of my expectations for a 2001 Brunello Riserva. it had tremendous fruit especially cherries but my minor disappointment came from the harsh tannins

December 31, 2012 - Opened and Decanted for about 1 hour. Just a hint of burnt umber when poured. Opened up nicely with plenty of fruit left on the palate. Finish was herbal with notes of wood. If cellared properly can stay in bottle for another 1-2 years. Drinking great now.

December 25, 2012 - Opened and drank. Tannins were a bit harsh, but overall wine had nice complexity and balance. Very good traditional Brunello that would have benefitted from a few hours of decanting.

November 20, 2011 - Decanted for 2 hours. Wine is still tight. Good underlying structure and complexity.

January 1, 2011 - Agree with Guido's comments. Fruit is a dominant tart cherry, notes of forest floor, raisin and earth w/ nice, long finish. Decanted for 3 hours.
