August 10, 2009 - Not decanted. Served immediately after opening

Color: Golden yellow. Mature looking white Burgundy

Nose: Tropical fruits and ample oily Montrachet-style flavours. Followed by sea water. But the nose started to fade away after about 30 minutes in the glass

Palate: The initial funk blew away after about 10 minutes. Loads of tropical and citrus fruits with some pear and pinapples. Nutty and oily texture on the mid palate like a mature premier cru (not too different from the 2000 Ramonet 1er cru Morgeot I had a short while ago). After about 15 minutes, tasted like creamy waffle biscuits. After about 10 minutes this changed to caramel popcorn. Palate soon faded after another 15 minutes and the wine started to fall apart.

This wine is faring well on the QPR scale (equivalent to USD38 per bottle). I wouldn't hold on to these bottles as I don't think they will improve any further. Drink up!
