Community Tasting Notes 10

January 1, 2010 - Anise and cherry on the nose. Very nice cab flavors with some sour cherry fruit mid palate. The tannins have mellowed quite well and the wine has evolved into a classic Napa cab. Finish could have been a bit longer but I can't complain. I believe that this wine is at it's peak right now - drink up. Wish I had a couple more bottles.

December 24, 2009 - Nice cab, some complexity. Barely tasted and was devoured by Christmas Eve group.

September 2, 2009 - Picked up on a whim at a new local store. Popped and poured. Very dark ruby color. From the instant the cork was popped, this seemed open to business. Nice pleasant nose of cedar, mocha, cherries, and spices. Palate with integrated but still present chewy tannins and some acidic zip. Fruit up front, with black cherries and cassis, with a darker edge. Prominent oak and cedar box flavors. Very long finish lasting minutes with some mature notes of leather, coffee, cassis, and oak. The oak influence is prominent and the tannins slightly drying on the back end, but this is a well crafted wine with good acid, tannin, and fruit balance, that I'm will to bet is at it's apex, though I have not had it before to compare.

March 15, 2008 - Red fruit with pepper, drinking well.

December 25, 2007 - A very good, but not great cab. Berry, olives and green pepper. On the downside, so I'll finish the rest soon.
