July 29, 2023 - drank 45 minutes after decanting. Pretty ripe and almost jammy, with fragrant spices, almost like potpourri and forest. Pretty smooth on the palate now.
June 18, 2023 - Treated the same as last note as far as aeration. Notes are similar with even more smoothness with waning tannins (still present), deeper dark fruit flavors. Delightful wine
April 16, 2023 - SQN Dinner (Jordan's Place - Chicago IL): In 06/07 flight. Meaty and firm, this was certainly enjoyable but showed less complexity or nuance vs the others.
January 1, 2023 - Wow wow wow ! Big thing in the glass. After 8 h in the big decanter this juice was off the charts. But not overdone or heavy. Once again Krankl managed to make a unique liquid with tons of dark fruits and a real amount of freshness and herbal stuff for perfect balance. Has years and years. Amazing. 97+
October 8, 2022 - Agree with other recent notes. Wine is drinking beautifully. Next day was even better. Will improve with age.
September 21, 2022 - Decant for 1 hour. It truly opens up and is like a ray of sun shine. Well balanced, unique flavors, lots of fruit. Very smooth. Share with friends and family. Don’t sit on this marvelous wine much longer. It’s drinking beautifully.

July 23, 2022 - Decanted for one hour. Nose of blackberry, blueberry, black plum, chocolate, licorice, spice and bramble. Blackberry, blueberry, chocolate, anise, spice and vanilla on the palate. Very long velvety finish with excellent depth. Full bodied. Served with hickory smoked beef plate ribs.
January 22, 2022 - The last bottle of SQN from my cellar from a significant lot bought back in 2010. I was not sure if it would hold good but on the contrary it exceeded expectations. Nose is out of this world with unbelievable intensity, clarity, focus and, yes, complexity: ripe fruit, mint, camphor, just amazing. Plush on the palate, balanced and rounded with nothing in excess. Notes of coffe and cocoa on the mouth, unbelievable finish. Wine does not get better, only different. Krankl, probably my favourite producer from the USA yet. Enjoyed at home with my friend Yiannis. Drank together with Beaucastel 's Hommage 2005 which, at least on the nose, was eclipsed by the beautiful Raven...
December 24, 2021 - drank 1 hour and 45 minutes after decanting. Really big and powerful, with tons of vanilla oak, really fragrant and woodsy, cedar notes, really nice and exotic. Second pour about 2 hours and 15 minutes after decanting showing metallic notes, really ripe and sweet on the palate.
