Community Tasting Notes 3

December 28, 2019 - oxidized but still singing what it once was. Orange and Golden Colour. Honey, Melon, Minerals and a typical Puligny long 45 second finish. This bottle was far over the hill and I am not sure if this is premox or due to 19 years and a hot vintage.

July 22, 2012 - I am always 'loathe' to nearly blindly copy another taster's notes but, I'm all about efficiency! I second nearly everything Vinotas says below, with the exception of barely getting that 'wax' sensation. PnP from 750ml at Legal Seafood in Boston (Park Sq), and lingered over it for as long as our kids would let us. Kept a single glass for Night #2, and it was nearly as perfect as last night. If you live in Boston, and are currently unaware how thoughtful, deep and incredibly priced Legal's wine lists are, you are doing yourself a disservice. Part of me - a pretty big part of me! - wants to keep that tidbit a very well kept secret but, alas.......I'm simply too thoughtful :) This was just delightful - can't wait to return to keep picking away at their list. Shocked to see how few of these Leflaives there are around.....

April 28, 2011 - Outstanding from start to finish. I let it sit in the glass until the end of dinner and it fleshed out and became both heavier and lighter, with more presence yet lighter weight. Gorgeous lemony white truffles on the nose at first, turning towards slight almond skin and juicy apple notes as it breathed, with bright minerals at the core. The palate ended up catching up with the aromas, but at first this was slightly disjointed, though you could tell that all the elements were there, you just needed some patience. Eventually it rounded out with some slightly sweet fruit at the front, a somewhat waxy mouthfeel, and ending with a long long long dry finish. I think I can still taste it this morning. Outstanding.
