April 16, 2013 - My last bottle and drinking very nicely, though I don't see it getting any better. It comes across mature with a burnished, smoky patina to the ripe citrus and peachy fruit, moderate sweetness balanced by vibrant acids beneath, and it's excellent; refreshing and lovely with slightly spicy food.

January 20, 2013 - Just like the bottle I enjoyed in December. Drinking very nicely now, though I see no reason to hold this longer.

December 1, 2012 - Comes across a lot more mature than the bottle I had last year; the fruit here has a more savoury, burnished quality to it, framed by developed smoky and creamy flavours. The sweetness isn't as pronounced either, it comes across almost dry with the bright acidity cutting through whatever sweetness there is and is drinking beautifully now (though I won't hold my other bottles too much longer).

June 30, 2011 - TTTG (no notes, just rankings): My wine of the night (1/9) and much more balanced and complex than either the 04 or the 09.

June 30, 2011 - The '01 Leitz Rieslings are extraordinary. The 'basic' Klosterlay QbA was staggeringly good a few weeks ago, and this is even better - a spectrum of pale, fresh Riesling fruit over a mineral base with the start of developing creamy elements. Incredibly pure and seamless with the acidity giving it a sensation of real energy and vibrancy. Fantastic wine.

February 21, 2010 - Just demi-sec sweetness now. I liked the fruit better when it was younger and more primary. Has developed a creaminess. Still a nice wine but will check in on another bottle soon.

January 30, 2009 - This wine is evolving beautifully. Balanced, with great acidity and minerality. Developing a creamy note which I sometimes don't care for, but works perfectly in this wine. Extremely long finish. Perhaps the best wine for the price that I've ever purchased. I wish subsequent vintages of this wine were as good.

August 23, 2007 - Bracing acidity, drier than in its youth, just off dry now. May be somewhere between primary and secondary fruit flavors, as primary fruit mostly gone. Enjoyable and a good accompaniment to sauteed wild salmon.

February 19, 2005 - Great wine, and value. Complex, balanced and long. This was even better the next day. It will be interesting to follow it's evolution.
