  November 28, 2020 - Dark dense purple garnet color nearly to the rim. The nose is also dark and sinister with beautiful heady aromas of creme des cassis, liquefied slate, crushed violets, and boysenberry pie. The palate is crisp, edgy, and still well structured with black and purple fruits, firm tannins, and mineral laden complexity. This could actually use another five years I think. I have a feeling 2005 is a legendary vintage in Chinon as this modest wine is absolutely cruising.

  December 22, 2017 - Hmm, I've found 2 more bottles of this wine. Perfect cork, and the shimmering dark ruby wine shows off clearing edges, but not bricked. The nose features dusty dark cherry, dark plum and tobacco leaf. After 60 minutes open, the dustiness settled, revealing tart cherry, raspberry, and a nuance of high-toned herbs. Wow! Superb intensity and concentration, this must be at peak right now. Great QPR!

  March 7, 2017 - Pnp. Very acidic. A little similar to some CdP's I've had. Dusty nose. Very complex and interesting. Begs for rich food. Excellent qpr.

  October 28, 2012 - From our everyday drinking bin, this was superb with roasted chicken! On the lighter side of medium-bodied, with nice herbal-tinged cherries and a touch of earthiness. Respectable finish of 20 or so seconds.
