Community Tasting Notes 4

May 1, 2011 - Good but on its way down. Brick color, cigar box, earthy on the nose, not much fruit left. Still balanced although tannins very soft. Not much more time left to drink this wine.

January 25, 2009 - Light red color with a hint of orange around the rim; a hint of classic bordeaux aromas but very restrained nose, restraint continues in the taste - a classic bordeaux heavy on the black fruit tastes but with well integrated, very soft oak. Overall a light body. Drinking now - bought a few more but wouldn't run out and buy a case as it might be on its downturn soon.

January 2, 2009 - Opaque, soupy, irredeemable. Am sending the rest back.

November 10, 2008 - Just released here in Ontario. No doubt for the christmas season.
For $22/bottle i could not resist trying this from a vintage that favoured the cab sauv.
According to the web sit the belnd is 45% cab sauv, 50% merlot and 5% franc.
Based on the vintage and the bouquet of blackcurrant i think that the cab sauv might be in the assendency here.
All you could ask for and more from my side of the table.
Mature and complex bouquet delivering big value.
Very inviting nose with a touch of classic Bordeaux, mature cassis and spice and vanilla. Well defined and memorable.
Dark almost opaque center with enticing garnet rim.
Fresh, fresh, fresh. This wine is delicious. Velvetty tannins.
Austerity one might expect from a more nothern location, but the body is excellent, the fruit mature and sweet and the acidity in perfect balance and all in athe classic Bordeaux style.
A must buy for those who crave classic bordeaux without having to mortgage the house.............and first born.
Just at it's peak and 12 yrs old. Viva la France et Bordeaux.
    Marvellous!!!
