December 12, 2023 - Not as good as prior bottles. After an hour so, this one was starting to show end of drinking window qualities with some raisin elements and other dark fruits fading at the finish. Got one more left. Drink up to be safe.

September 21, 2023 - 5 hour slow ox. Black with some red fruits that are ripe but not sweet. Some dark currant, dried herbs, and touches of tar, spice and Oak. Still thick but long and smooth tannins. A very nice wine but with a flavor profile that people put as their best or worst among the various Italian reds sampled that were all within the same professional raters' scoring ranges.

September 13, 2023 - Slow ox for 90 minutes. Some lovely ripe black fruits up front followed by some nice red fruits. Touches of tar and sweet Oak. Very smooth with a 15+ second finish.

August 27, 2023 - Decanted. Deep ruby w/ a little garnet on the rim. Thick & extracted. Clean, w/ ripe black cherry, black plum, blackberry, coffee, cigar box, dark chocolate and baking spices. The nose is developing (+) but the palate is still youthful. Spends 18-24 mos. in a mix of French barrique & large barrels. Dry, w/ nice sweet, ripe fruit, med to med+ acidity, med+ to high alcohol (14%) and med+ tannins. Full-bodied, w/ med+ to pronounced intensity and length. A remarkably youthful and structured wine, this should continue to show well for several more years. WS 93.

December 19, 2018 - SLDS December 2018: Blind. Coffee and vanilla, cocoa, licorice, raisins and iodine. Plenty of acid tang on the palate, with some serious grip as well. Good length too. A good options wine!
