August 24, 2023 - Enjoyed this bottle decanted at Venue, with my friends Jordan and Megan. I purchased a case of these bottles on release and forgot about them in my cellar until recently. The color was very dark, with no signs of age. Immediately open on the nose . . . vibrant and youthful. inviting dark fruits, the mid-palate was consistent. Balanced, tannins fully receded, classic Napa. Mostly dark fruit and cassis. Still very youthful. Will last another five years easily and probably longer.

March 15, 2021 - Had my first bottle in 2008. Noted heavy tannins. 13 years later, this wine has balanced out. Cork broke in half when opening. Was easy to get second half out with some care. Poured out from the bottle and did not decant. Light tannins. Dark purple fruit, spices/cinnamon. Drink now through 2024. Now I can't wait to drink my 2005!!

November 4, 2015 - Served with grilled flap-meat, grilled potatoes and sauteed butternut squash... it paired perfectly...

Cedar and a little musty on the nose... Smooth, silky on the palate with no tannins... dark berries... aged very well... bummed it's my last one...

October 25, 2015 - Not so sure on the low scores seems to have aged perfectly to me. Served with aged bone in prime rib, butter but squash and rice pilaf.
    Big fan of this winery.

June 20, 2015 - Rich, full bodied, round and drinking very well. Dark, garnet color with no sign of bricking. From appearance this could be a current vintage. Chocolate, coffee and dark black fruits on the palate with a smooth finish of lack cherry. Freemark continues to make a great value, Napa Cab designed to age well.

(Freemark Abbey Cabernet Sauvignon) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-nice subtle oak & cedar box; really interesting dried cranberries mixed w/ straw; mellow, but very nice nose; TASTE-I get an heavy levels of cassis on the mid-palate and great blueberries & black currant on the back-end; a hair too much oak for me; good tannin structure; not too bitter; good value for a Napa Cab; many Cali Cab drinkers would really like this; RP-90; GV-89
