June 28, 2013 - Disappointing a couple of years ago. Second bottle now is just dreadful. Really has to hit the avoid level. Just a mess.
I've tasted really good Baxter, but I sure as hell haven't owned one yet. -

August 9, 2011 - Peachy red color. Initially light and dried strawberry fruit, dusty spice. Pretty light body with dtawberry and light earth.
I tried this in four different glasses, only one of which I thought gave much on the nose, that bring the Riedel Oregon Pinot glass. The wide rim Pinot and the Riedel Burgundy glass did this no justice at all.
After a good bit of time the pretty feminine quality initially experienced faded and the prominent character became wood spice on the nose and earth and heat on the palate.
This was never bad (at least in the right glass), but the initial promise didn't prove out either. -

October 16, 2010 - Where's the bouquet? Just a faint hint of violets and cherries. Drinks like cherry juice with decent acidity. A bit of well-integrated oak on the finish. Some heat. Merely acceptable at the closeout price of $27, definitely nowhere near quality needed for the desired $45 retail price. Just too simple, lacking concentration, without much aromatics. Pleasant wine, just one better suited for a $20 price point IMO. For a Pinot of this style, the nose needs to carry the wine, but it doesn't.

August 17, 2010 - pretty and translucent in the glass; beautiful and focused cherry and raspberry fruit nicely balanced with mineral notes; smooth glycerin like mouth feel; some fingernail polish alcohol toward the finish was the only detraction;

January 3, 2010 - High alcohol that did not fit with the earthy character. Wine out of balance.
