June 7, 2014 - UAE Wine Dinner: Still on the up, a hint of spice, bright orange fruit, delicious.

October 22, 2012 - Similar appearance, but this was drier and tighter on the palate, the acidity more insistent and the flavours more reticent. Initially served a bit too cold, but the spectrum when the wine warmed was more in the rich fresh cream and pencil lead spectrum. Just a hint of tangerine in the background. Seems like the bottle in January this year was a bit of an outlier on the development front.

January 28, 2012 - Mid gold with a healthy glint. A slight mousse of very fine and lazy bubbles. A fully developed bouquet of caramel and fine mushroom with hints of tangerine in the background. Dry but rich, rounded and very long with the classic flavours of mature blanc de blancs champagne. This appears to have quite low acidity and yet if you concentrate the acidity is quite steely, such is the power and depth of fruit here. Endless creamy mushroom finish. Top class wine at the peak of vigour, yet fully developed. May be a rogue bottle to be so advanced compared to the previous bottles, but the next will confirm one way or the other.

May 12, 2009 - From a case of 12 late disgorged around 2004, so may not be representative of others normally disgorged.
Pale gold, firm mousse which settled eventually. Citrussy fruit with a slightly nutty, earthy background. Later a little light butterscotch is evident. A little reserved but very deep and concentrated. Powerful and quite full on the palate. Very dry and sophisticated. An old barrel like note (I don't think there is any contact with wood in the making of this), rich citrus fruit something akin to candied tangerine peel and a lower register of the butterscotch evident on the nose. Acidity is beautifully integrated but nevertheless quite high in isolation. Took its time to open up, but got better with air. Some kept overnight tightened and showed more primary apple and chalk notes. Fabulous length. Still evolving but certainly showing the first hints of maturity. Should be a great example in time. Another two or three points possible in time.
