Community Tasting Notes 22

June 7, 2022 - Notably more lifted and aromatic than the 83 and 96. Some fresh red fruit swirling above the same characteristics as the 96. My favourite of the 3 for this reason, but all were very good and all the better for being tasted vertically.
    Freshness of the vintage evident

June 3, 2021 - A welcome revisit of a château that I have drunk last some time ago. No disappointment either as it built steadily throughout the evening. The balance between Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot plus the fair dollop of Petit Verdot makes for an unusual blend.
Colour: Deep red, v thin rim, hint of brown tinge.
Nose: full , ripe, opulent, great CS flavours followed by Merlot plumminess.
Taste: med body, rounded, good structure with tannins still present. Good fruit and balance. Long finish, elegant with CS dominating.
Overall, a great pleasure in an old fashioned style; 12.5% ABV. Says it all!

January 12, 2021 - Dark ruby red, well crusted sediment. Rim losing its lustre, but still red rather than orange. Lasting surprisingly well. Not much nose, even after two hours open. Delicate feel in the mouth, but not dry or thin. Tannin as you swallow, but lasting flavour is savoury, with some earthiness. Lean and balanced. Classic. Warm fruit lingers, ghosts of blackcurrant. It was overwhelmed by Comte, but was brilliant with Cheddar. Delightful. Slowly fading.

November 26, 2020 - Hat in der Subskription 28 DM gekostet und war, wenn ich mich recht erinnere ein feiner, delikater Genuss.
In 2010 getrunken: reif, voll, Tanine schön eingebunden
In 2014: immer noch großartig, Tabak

March 18, 2017 - Opened and drank over several hours. At first a bit closed, but after about an hour reached its peak. All the while, it was vigorous enough to work with food.
