May 5, 2010 - i was anxious to try something new and wanted to give some business to the retailer who has some dusty bottles of interest. as a result, i overpaid for this wine. this property is owned by codorniu so i assumed the product would be better than average. this turned out to be well fashioned but relatively non-descript. this wine seems meant to be enjoyed now without giving it much thought. perhaps i would have liked it better at the $10 price point.

August 2009 (link)(Bodega Séptima Malbec, Mendoza) Argentine Malbec has been quietly taking over the red-wine world with its superb value and drinkability in every price range. Case in point: this delicious 2007 from Séptima, a winery known more for sparklers. Look for a perfect balance of juicy, ripe black fruits and just enough tannins. A great red wine by the glass. April 2009 (link)(Bodega Séptima Malbec, Mendoza) With aromas of cherry, plum, sun-dried tomato, tar, chocolate, and vanilla, this wine conjures up visions of Italy. Medium-bodied, with flavors of sweet cherry, strawberry, cherry cola, tomato, orange zest, and vanilla bean, it has a long, darkly fruity, zesty finish. Special Report: Argentina
