April 16, 2022 - Blackberry, black cherry, and dark plum fruit. Gorgeous, silky wine right now with notes of earth, spice cracked pepper, licorice, and subtle tobacco. Nice acidity, smooth tannins, long finish. At 20 years of age this is drinking great right now and will continue to do so over the next few years.

March 16, 2022 - Covolo's 2002 Napa Cab tasting (Casa Covolo): Started off a bit tight on the nose to start that opened up as the night wore on. Notes of cassis, raspberry, dark cherry and a touch of minerals on the nose. The palate has dusty tannins, but they're nicely polished with a high-toned finish. Finished 2 of 8 in tasting of 2002 Napa cabs.

February 4, 2021 - Crumbly cork - Deep maroon color. Blackberry preserves, sweet concord grape jelly and earth with lovely spices on the nose. Gorgeous, silky texture on the palate with bright fruit flavors and vibrant spice. Really in a beautiful place with nicely integrated tannins allowing the flavors to shine. Bought directly from the winery on Spring Mountain during a visit to the Sherwin Family Estate - the owners are incredible people and you can taste their commit to excellence in their wines. Sincerely enjoyed several games of bocce ball.

November 29, 2019 - No detailed notes, but this was singing right from its opening. Its nearing the end of its drinking window, but any well cellared bottles will still be greatly enjoyable. Cheers!
