December 28, 2021 - Deep ruby red colour with garnet edges. Medium and developing nose with black cherry, dark plum, forest floor, mushroom, cinnamon and vanilla. Medium taste of black cherry, dark plum, forest floor, mushroom, cinnamon and vanilla. Long and dry finish. Medium (+) acidity. Medium (+) tannins. Full body. A very good and well matured Tuscany Red. Drink now or over the next five years. Goes well with beef or lamb.

February 2, 2019 - This wine has a nose of charred oak, red roses, cherries, and leather. The tannins are very pronounced; yet, the finish is smooth and long. Very good. We triple decanted this over a period of several hours.

August 14, 2018 - Totally forgot about these and found them in the cellar while looking for something else, and since we had a Tuscan steak recipe marinating, figured I better get into one sooner than later.

Apparently this is a blend of cabernet, merlot, syrah, and sangiovese. Cork stained right on up to almost the top. A little tight on the pop, but opened a little with a short bit in the decanter and glass. Not much sediment, but a little. Dense, opaque coloring, with a brickish tawny ring at the very edges. Aromas of dark fruits, eucalyptus, damp earth, fennel, and graphite. Medium body, acid, and finish, with flavors of dark fruits, graphite minerality, and spices. This is probably on the downslope of its evolution, but I'm assuming it's softened a bit, which is likely playing a little better towards my preferences. Which is I guess to say that I'm not upset about not having this sooner, but I will definitely drink my other sooner than later.
