June 5, 2023 - Oh my God. When the cork holds, these old vintages are just pure magic. I never cease to be amazed at how these wines go from an almost undrinkable, battery acid style wine when released to this. Wow. Honey coloured, luscious and fat, it’s just remarkable that this has seen no oak at all. You wonder how long they could go, this has not a hint of oxidation or tiredness, it’s a big, bold wine full of life.

August 29, 2020 - Ex-cellar cleanskin. Still fairly light color of straw. This was from a sixpack of screw cap which were in much better shape than the sixpack by cork. Perfume-level concentration in the nose with great height of Fab lemon, buttered caramel popcorn. Big mouth of Robinson's Lemon Barley Water, grated lemon peel, some slate and maintains excellent height. Lemon-lime gelato and sherbet on a long finish. Can't believe this is the second label (after Lovedale). Must have years of life left in it.

May 19, 2018 - Beautiful toast and honey on the nose that richly translates to the palate. A rich and fulsome mouthfeel with a lingering aftertaste. A classic Hunter White Burgundy style that celebrates the uniqueness of this traditional Hunter Semillon style. One to savour.

April 23, 2018 - Fully matured with typical honey and cut straw on nose and palate. The underlying richness is superb of this old style Hunter semillon that is closer to the White Burgundy style. Compare this to the current release and learn the lesson and rewards of cellaring this unique wine style. Alternatively, compare it to the 2005 Tyrrell's Vat 1 semillon with it's leaner more precise Chablis like palate profile.
