Community Tasting Notes 5

August 26, 2022 - The colour's very pale at the rim but plenty of red here and only a hint of orange.
Aromatic spicy notes, raspberries, strawberry jam and a little mint. Fresh enough but a little faded.
Similar story on the palate, fresh fruit, clean and a little spicy, hasn't gone strange, but lacking a bit of oomph. Still it's a tasty drop. Amazing what a fairly ordinary Burgundy can do after 16 years.
Tasting it again the next day and it has beefed up with spicy, aromatic notes and an almost Sonoma like medicinal flavour, plus a some funkier wild flavours. Definitely worth keeping.

December 30, 2009 - My first foray into passetoutgrains leaves me thinking that I should stick to either the juicy freshness of gamay as expressed by cru beaujolais or earthier pinot noir from red bourgogne - the mixing of the two in this bottling left me thinking, "eh." Nevertheless, for the $12 I spent, it was not a waste.

October 5, 2009 - Very pleasant, drinkable gamay-pinot blend(?). The fun of a beaujolais, with the hint of pinot stateliness. Drink now, drink often.

December 1, 2008 - This wine was very good and at this price point a good QPR, highly recommend this. Enjoyed with Kim, neighborill and spouse Debbie at the Thanksgiving wines wine tasting at the Hickory Wine Shoppe. Interesting burgundy blend, 85% pinot. Very spicy nose with white pepper, tar and terroir on nose with flavors of cassis and blackberry. Definitely in the top three wines served that night.
