July 13, 2018 - Tawny brown to amber color. Nutty, sweet nose. Great initial mouth feel. Honey, brown sugar, caramel, with bright acidity. Really hard to believe it is 50 years old. Has lots of life left.

June 7, 2018 - You can’t score these wines less than 90. So many colheita ports are so amazing. 50 years old and it has great acidity and so much life left in it. All the butterscotch, nuttiness, orange blossom. The acidity left in this wine was amazing. Buy this if you can. You will never find a 50 yr old wine at this price.

June 3, 2018 - Older Colheita Port Tasting (Sammamish, Washington): Orange-brown in color. Some lemon and citrus notes on the nose. Simplistic palate with a little strawberry and some noticeable alcohol present. Short finish.

March 11, 2018 - Pretty amazing, especially considering it is a 50-year old wine. Bottom of the neck fill and some serious moisture through 4/5 of the cork. This is essentially a cask aged single vintage Tawny Port. Medium brown with an amber rim and cloudy, it definitely would benefit from a decant. The nose is clean and developed, with toffee, caramel, vanilla, hazelnuts, figs, and sweet baking spices. The palate is consistent with the nose and extremely smooth, with medium acidity, medium tannins, medium (+) to pronounced flavor intensity and a very long finish. The alcohol is reported as 20% but seems much lower. Overall, this is a sublime experience by itself, with an aged cheese or Marcona almonds. No reason to think that it would not last for several more years.

December 23, 2011 - Clear medium intensity - amber with a hint of orange / clean, med to pronounced intensity - caramel - grenadine, grilled nuts (hazelnut / almond), some sherry like aromas / sweet, med+ acidity that keeps it fresh and well balanced, med+ body, pronounced intensity, and superbe length. Great way to end a long dinner
