    January 21, 2024 - Tasted from half-bottle.

Fully mature dark brick-red in colour after decanting. Nose of blackcurrants and strawberries, with gingerbread and cedar-wood in the background.

Medium- to full-bodied, with medium sweetness. Very nice fruit, lots of strawberries, backed up with prunes, complex spice flavours and a touch of mint and crystallised orange peel. Medium finish. Really well balanced, perfect drinking now; a really good reminder of how bottle size (and a standard-length wine cork rather than a longer vintage port cork) have such a profound effect on the maturation of wines.

June 4, 2022 - Medium ruby colour. Pronounced and developing nose with red cherry, black cherry eucalyptus, mint, fennel, cinnamon, ginger and coffee. Pronounced taste of black cherry, eucalyptus, fennel, smoke, cinnamon, ginger and coffee. Long and sweet finish. High acidity. Medium (-) tannins. Full body. A very good Vintage Port. Drink now or over the next five years. Goes well with cheeses or chocolate based desserts.

November 1, 2019 - Excellent VP. Sweet red fruit. Alcohol well integrated. Long life assured.

March 29, 2019 - Nose is strong, but closed, with jammy notes of blackcurrant and cherry. The palate is sweet and heavy, but not cloying: a lot of the weight comes from tannin, not sugar, and the finish is very dry. Flavours of blackcurrant and black cherry are evident, but the nose and palate are both quite closed. Though it's already 14 years old, this tastes very young; the flavour will surely reveal far more complexity in the decades to come.
