December 21, 2008 - Nose: Spicy and perfumy nose with some hay and traces of old sock (what is it with this appellation and bizzare funky aromas?). Palate: Lean, acidic with almost Sauv Blanc-like character but rounder and with very muted fruit levels. Unlike the last Saumur (red) I had about 1 1/2 months ago, which was undrinkable, this wine is much better. With that said it is nothing special.
