December 11, 2019 - Nose of black berry, touch of cherry and plum, same on the palate, big body, tasty, mouth filling fruit, high price and lack of complexity and long cellar time have reduced my interest in this wine

November 4, 2018 - A bit of vinegar in the profile and not well integrated

September 7, 2018 - On the nose; dark spice, clove, cinnamon, lots of caramel & vanilla. Ripe, leaner styled; blackberries, dark cherries, black raspberries, black plum, some mulberries & boysenberries. Cherry liqueur, salted milk chocolate, dry crush rocks & top soil, dark forest floor, sweet tarry notes with fresh & withering dark florals.

The body is full. The tannins are well resolved...slightly further than I expected. Ripe, leaner styled; blackberries, dark cherries, black raspberries, black plum, some mulberries & boysenberries. Dark spice with some heat, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, lots of caramel & vanilla. cherry liqueur, salted milk chocolate, cocoa powder, graphite, saddle-wood, used leather, mint, dry crush rocks & top soil, dark forest floor, sweet tarry notes with fresh & withering dark florals.

Despite the mid Napa alcohol of 14.2%, you can sense a stronger level of alcohol in the 05...untypical for this producer.

Maybe, better one year ago. Still very good but, not going to continue to improve. I’d drink over the next 1-2 years. Unless, you enjoy it when it starts to slide into that fig & prune phase.

May 29, 2018 - Still going strong. Just as outstanding as our last bottle. Dark, plummy fruit still primary.

December 31, 2017 - Decanted for about an hour, drank over 2 hrs, served with peppercorn steak. This wine was outstanding, not sure if other bad reviews had a bad bottle, bad cork, or something else, but ours was great. Dark fruits with black cherry, fig, plum, vanilla, oak, firm tannins, just a little heat from alcohol but didn't take away from the wine, med-long finish, just delicious and great with steak. Probably ready to drink but may have a few years left, wish we had another!
