August 21, 2017 - From Art's cellar. One-hour decant. Color was garnet, some amber towards the rim; wine was clear. Initially, nose was cherries, pepper and a little chalk. Chalk blew off, and with time cocoa predominated followed by sweet cherry aromas. In the mouth, initial taste was cherries with some bitter herbs and anise which softened and then morphed into bing cherries. Great balance. Lovely wine at 17 years old.

August 5, 2014 - Garnet with slight bricking.Plum and mild spice nose. Cherry, savory fruit elements are predominate and tasty. Spicy and lively after a half hour opening. Pleasant, moderate tannins with good finish. Drinking very well right now.

March 20, 2013 - - Garnet color with slow forming legs - This is amazingly still good. Lots of fruit. Fresh. Balanced tanins. Quite enjoyable.

March 25, 2012 - This was a very nice wine, much fresher than several of the Napa wines. Medicinal sweet tobacco nose. Some black fruit on the palate, tobacco and cedar. Moderate finish. This was showing less mature fruit and more complexity than the Beringer and Mondavi. A very nice mature Cab.

    Garnett/purple
Rasberry with a touch of blackberry in front and back, lacking complexity in the middle
tannins still evident but ease up after only 10 minutes of being open
Consume with some sharp cheese and crackers & enjoy.
