Community Tasting Notes 1

June 28, 2013 - Received a bottle as a gift. It's still drinking well but is fully mature and I wouldn't gamble on it holding out too many more years. On opening there was a whiff of the barnyard which settled down but there were aromas and flavours of forest floor I associate more with burgundy than rhone. It was still fresh and well balanced with an underlying base of fruit with a modest 13% alcohol. It's a different style to the more recent vintages of Crozes-Hermitage that I am familiar with but overall an enjoyable bottle.
