December 25, 2020 - Very delicious. Almost reminds me of a Sauternes . Would be great for dessert with strong cheese, lots of residual sugar but still balanced. Caramel, stewed apples, orange peel on the nose.

July 11, 2015 - A wonderful evening of Chenin. (Chez Kravitz- Old Saybrook): It was fun to try this side by side with the Cuvée Constance. It’s of a completely different character. It’s much darker in color and is a denser, weightier, sweeter and more botrytis dominated wine that comes across more as an essencia. Intensely sweet with apricot preserves, orange marmalade, earl grey tea, quince paste and mineral flavors and aromas. There’s plenty of acidity here, but this wine just isn’t as nimble as the Constance. Still, it’s a monumental wine, one your grandkids will be able to enjoy. A+/A.

July 11, 2015 - Chenin Blancs @ the Kravitz (Old Saybrook): Served alongside the 1989 Huet Cuvee Constance, this actually outperformed that legendary wine on my first few sips. A monument of a wine, with super ripe apricots, savory quince and lip smacking, palate cleansing acids. This did have an ever so slight "dirty" note on the nose, but the palate was clean. The 1989 Huet, however, got better with air and overtook this wine, while this "only" maintained. I had this bottling a couple of years back where it was more electric, but this was still insanely delicious.

December 21, 2013 - Dena's Birthday Dinner Part 2 with Mom, Steve & Barb at Guglhupf. Red amber in the glass, this wine quickly announced its' presence with tremendous aromas of honey, peaches and mirabelles amongst others. The palate is sweet but with razor sharp acidity to match and the finish is endless. My notes are not as detailed as this wine deserves as I was not feeling well at this point in the evening. My first time with this and i look forward to having it again. I wonder if Foreau struggled with whether or not to label this as Goutte D'Or and didn't out of respect for his grandfather and the '47 and then gave in with the '90 or if he didn't think it deserved that title but was something beyond Moelleux Reserve? As fabulous as this is, it is a step behind the '90 Foreau Goutte D'Or and the '89 Huet Cuvee Constance but this is all splitting hairs as all 3 are some of the finest wines to ever come out of Vouvray. 50+14+14+9.5+9.5 = 97
