  January 20, 2021 - Fruit day - Decanted off hard sediment stuck to the bottle. Garnet core to a red edge. I had drink by 2015 and this is showing incredibly youthfully visually. Nose of black olive, damp earth, funk (no other way to describe it), licorice root, dried red florals, dried oregano and bay leaf, thyme, dark chocolate and several I can’t describe. Very complex and layered on the nose. On the palate it’s full bodied with good acidity, fully resolved tannins and excellent presence. Flavours on the palate are dark fruit, damp earth, savoury herbs (predominantly oregano), dark chocolate and licorice root. The long finish still shows a fair bit of tannin (although ripe) with licorice, herbs and dried fruit and red florals. This has developed beautifully. Still a food wine but is on the plateau and will stay there for at least another 3 years in good cellar conditions.
