December 11, 2022 - Browning; gruff, gravy granules, dried meat, pinched; drying out, there's a softening on mid palate, with savoury notes; but attenuated finish. Clearly on downslope.

February 22, 2021 - This was my favorite at a Sesti tasting 10 years ago and very pleased to see it is still healthy and at least as good as then. He makes Sangiovese taste like Sangiovese should and the elegance and acidity are still very good. Nice length and complexity and just a delight. Prefect now and should it hold for another five years.

March 28, 2018 - all funky fruits of the forest.
still alive - developed nicely over an hour.
    needs drinking up though

April 4, 2017 - On the downside of peak drinking period, while still enjoyable, showed less depth and slightly oxidized compared to the 3/22/10 bottle.

December 31, 2016 - The second bottle was right on for a 17 year old Brunello normalé. Deep and earthy with black cherry and leather notes. A little brown to the edge and not the wonder my first bottle was, but an enjoyment and relief after the first bottle tonight was corked. I see no reason to hold these, just pull out a steak and a corkscrew and eat/drink up.
