November 3, 2017 - Gary's Intro Retro -- Italia!: Served double blind. The nose is a bit rustic with mature red fruit and earth tones. The palate still has richness and depth, with fruit that is mature and starting to show balsamic notes. The balance and structural freshness is still there and holds the wine together. Very good - drink now for peak enjoyment. My #3, group's #1.

November 3, 2017 - Chicago Wine Flock...Gary Goes Italian (Chez Weber - Chicago IL): Tasted double blind in what turned out to be a 1982 Barbaresco flight. Floral and spice start with fully mature red cherry. Silky soft tannins. Wonderfully at its peak. So much better vs another (dead) bottle from the same source tasted two years ago.
