Community Tasting Notes 10

April 26, 2011 - Best thing about this wine is that my kids love the yellow cork.

December 7, 2009 - straightforward and fairly dense fruit, but simple and jammy probably because of the low acid level of the monastrel grape. Quite drinkable, but it isn't going to become more complex with age. This bottle was tasted over about 4 nights and while the fruit became a bit rounder over that time, the essential character didn't evolve. A good inexpensive quaff, but that's it.

October 10, 2009 - Yikes, my last TN on this wine is an embarrassment; I wonder if it was left unfinished and somehow entered as complete. Doubtless it has caused me to be blocked by self-respecting CT-ers. I've said it before but you cannot go Wrongo with Dongo in this price range; though as others have observed, their is decent competition - I think the Garnacha de Fuego is a good alternative. Inky youthful purple red, soft cherry fruit prevails, modestly underscored with peppery spice, moderate acidity.

September 2, 2009 - Rasin, spice, fresh. Fine for $9, not sure why you wouldn't just go with Luzon or Luzon Verde at the same price.

August 19, 2009 - Fruity but thin mouthfeel and not much of a finish. But given the price, excellent QPR.
