September 30, 2023 - A nutty chalky mature nose, a little honeyed with yellow fruits. On the palate, it's subtly intense for a village wine yet delicate. More of the same fruit and chalk on the palate with some lactic notes beautifully balanced with acidity and stoniness. Terrific detail and lift. It’s less vibrant than my last bottle a decade plus ago. Fully mature and I would drink up. A contemplative wine. Still lovely but fading. 92

May 25, 2023 - Good, a little light. Flinty. Could need a bit more stuffing.

March 12, 2022 - La Paulée de New York Gala Dinner (Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers - New York NY): This had been opened the day before, but we never got to it! Bright apple throughout with floral notes, and faint earth emerging. Still fresh after 24 hours. Lots of energy.

December 19, 2021 - Really excited to get a 20xx Wb that wasn’t premoxed. And this bottle from roulot was pretty amazing. Medium green gold color. Tropical fruit nose with wet stones and a nutty carmel aroma. Palate was more lemon meringue with the meringue being toasted. Great texture and. Great finish. Thanks Jean Marc. Highly recommended

July 4, 2021 - Sunday heaters (Chicago, IL): A somewhat disappointing bottle of older Roulot -- this didn't have the typical reduction associated with more contemporary bottlings. But at the same time, this just wasn't that exciting either; it seemed a little flat and showed some green astringency on the palate as well. A good bottle of chardonnay, this perhaps suffered from the high expectations that came with the label.

May 30, 2021 - Roulot's 2007 Les Meix Chavaux sports an appealing bouquet of lemon curd and crushed stone. Good tension. At peak but no rush. (Daniel Brefort bottling)

March 6, 2021 - A very linear wine but not in closed or dumb way. Smooth with Lavender on the nose. Mineral qualities but not pronounced. Quite demure. Drinking it felt like a bit of a roller coaster. 91/92

Other times I've had this wine I've been very disappointed but wasn't the case this time though it didn't meet the highs I hoped. Think it has more to show.

December 11, 2020 - Popped and poured. Nose shows sherry notes with some lemon, not very appealing. The palate has a nice citrus infused juiciness that is still acidic and lively. Just not profound. Drink up.

April 12, 2020 - From the Stone Barns Cellar... Linear and complex tingling the palate with lemon curd, white peaches, crushed stone and saline. Finishes with great length and tons of energy.
