May 17, 2021 - A rich, stunning wine with a superb nose. See Aravind Asok's note for a fuller description but this had incredible depth and length of flavour. Sadly I was not patient enough to wait to try it on the next day but it had enough fruit that I am sure it can develop further.

March 7, 2020 - classical NZ nose, solid, ripe fruit.

January 8, 2018 - A very interesting PN, and definitely memorable. Beautiful, full, nose with loads of spicecake, a hint of earthy funk and loads of black fruit. Seems like it might be extracted, but the scents are full and dark. On the palate, it continues this impression with vibrant acidity and loads of red and black fruit. A hint if sweetness and tangy black fruit on the spicy, finely grained tannic finish.

This definitely is on the syrah end of the PN fruit scale, but is still very much PN.

Day 2: Wow, this is just stunning today. Ripe nose as yesterday, beautiful perfume. On the palate, spicy black cherry and red fruit, with a dense palate filling presence. Very soft tannic finish with very nice spice. Paired perfectly with our chicken with harissa (maybe because it is on the syrah end of the PN spectrum)

April 24, 2016 - A really lovely wine- incredible balance and poise. A wonderful nose which reminded me of a very good vosne romanee. A really sophisticated wine with great structure which I often find missing in New Zealand Pinot- easily the best Kiwi Pinot I have drunk.

April 29, 2015 - No note on color

Quite a sulphery nose - reduced? Ribena on the nose with secondary elements of damp earth.

Big red fruited palate - red delicious apples, dark cherries and berry fruit.
