  November 28, 2013 - Fully panoply of red licorice and cherry notes on the nose, a touch of brown spice, floral. Black cherry flavors finish just a bit abruptly, and I think this needs food to round out the acidity. Overall it falls short of outstanding, mainly due to the edgy finish, but very good, if not for the sticker price.
  
  Edit: drink up. This was better the first time around when the fruit had an abiding lushness.

  May 27, 2009 - Brown spices on the nose, floral accents, and not all that much fruit to speak of. Not so on the palate, which is lively with raspberry and black cherry, a silky mouthfeel, and an acidic background. More focused than most Californa pinots--a distinctive, Vosne like spice profile. Not going to wow by virtue of ripeness and fruit or whatnot, but I like the mouthcoating persistence, acidity, density, and finish. A power pinot, but with some real nuance.
