December 4, 2021 - Sixteenth Annual White Truffle Dinner (Inovasi - Lake Bluff IL): Another bonus bottle, popped-and-poured, but tonight's bottles was completely tired. so sad, my previous tasted from 2017 was fantastic. Hopefully the bottle stashed away in my cellar is better.

February 12, 2020 - Sandalwood, tobacco, meat and earth. Mostly secondary note as the fruit has faded. Enjoyable but certainly over the peak.

January 27, 2018 - Great perfume on the nose - light strawberry, soy, dry but meaty, cherry. Savory salty and meaty finish. Nose - 5.5/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1-1.5/2 = 16.5-17/20.

January 27, 2018 - Alt Rieslingfeier (New York City, NY): I'm thinking that this was a late release, given the pristine label on the bottle. The news here, like the Drouhin Corton-Bressandes, is fairly autumnal. On the other hand, there is a fullness and ripeness to the fruit on the nose that the Corton didn't quite have. The pallet shows fresh fruit still, with and especially pronounce note of red cherry. Uncannily fresh and youthful, this was an incredible wine, and again reinforces my love of the work that Gérard Potel did.

March 11, 2017 - Paulee. Good old Burg, remains elegant and fresh. Ex-domaine?

(POUSSE DOR Bousse dOR) 1969 Dear Friends, Pousse d'Or has released the remainder of their beautiful collection from 1969, cellared at the Domaine for nearly 40 years and now released to the public. This is a remarkable set of aged Burgundy that can be had for less than the release price of a highly regarded 2005. Both of the wines below will depart France in the next few days (along with the first three 1969 wines we offered earlier in the winter) - they are as good as it gets from a Burgundy provenance standpoint. From the original offer for 1969 Pousse d'Or: "If you are into the finest provenance and rarest wines of the world, this set of 1969's is one of the last original cellar-sets of 1960's-era Burgundy left in Volnay - they are from impeccable, winery-cellared stock released in 2008 from Pousse d'Or and the bottles are as close to mint condition as one can imagine from this era. They are in original cases from the winery and all represent (as scary as it is to say) value in high-end aged Burgundy. Unlike purchasing wine at auction (a practice fraught with risk no matter how impeccable the cellar is), this set has never moved from the winery. In many cases, wine at auction has been traded back and forth multiple times and few in the industry (or the original owners) are willing to acknowledge this fact. Purchasing original cellar stock is self explanatory - you cannot obtain a better lineage, which is why this set of 1969's is so rare. As the market tightens and supply dwindles, the cream will rise to the top and this is an example of such an occurrence" VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for extreme rarity in this condition: 1969 Pousse d'Or "Clos des Soixante OuvrÄes" Volnay (BH93) 1969 Pousse d'Or "Clos de la Bousse d'Or" Volnay Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Burg1788 Burg1789
