December 28, 2009 - Dark. The aroma is pure sangiovese (100%) with nice dusty leather and plum/cherry fruit. This is big and dense in the mouth but still retains the liveliness typical of the grape. It's not together yet with a youthful feel and some grape tannin on the finish but it opens and softens with air hinting at future potential. A vineyard wine with no/light oak modification. Excellent for '05. Something special going on here. Not inexpensive. 2k east of CC zone, SE of Badia a Coltibuono.
