May 27, 2020 - Good balance of fruit with acidity - lovely wine when in the mood for Barossa Shiraz.
February 12, 2020 - Monthly Tasting Group HWS #146; Australian Shiraz (By JZ): In the bouquet blackberries, plums and chocolate. On the palate a sweet start, eucalyptus, some metal, good acidity, full bodied, juicy and elegant. Good length. Beautiful wine. 91 - 92
September 12, 2018 - Starting to hit its straps. Whilst the fruit remains powerful, it has muted just enough to not be the dominant element. Has great balance and length.
September 9, 2018 - 15.0% abv. Old Shiraz, nothing like it. Wine has started to brick in color slightly. Berry goodness, one dimensional on nose. Med mouthfeel, tannins there but fading, drink now. Red and black fruit,
Cola, still some white pepper, med finish. Bought 6 yrs ago for $20, great value.
April 14, 2018 - We drank this beside a 2008 Caymus Special Selection and the Anaperenna was an equal match holding it's own. The wine was fruity on the nose and drank smooth with a mid to long finish. Will have to buy more future releases.
December 3, 2016 - Super wine
April 25, 2016 - Quite intense fruit. Plenty of tannin to balance it though. Great length. Still very youthful so has many years ahead - 10+.
January 18, 2016 - Wow, short decant and the wine just kept getting better! Beautiful Syrah and Cab blend firing on all cylinders.
August 30, 2015 - consistent with notes of 2/1/2014 - fantastically fresh and vibrant.
July 18, 2014 - Good bottle.
Dark carmine and purple. Almost black core.
Big bouquet of liquorice, dark cherries, cassis, strawberries, oak, spices, kirch and a hint of dark chocolate. Very big and generous nose.
Big body, lots of flavours, sweet liquorice, cherries, dark plum, herbs and oak/oak spice. Sweet and soft tannins, ok acidity, but the alcohol is not totally integrated with the fruit. Feels stronger than it actually is.
Long finish. Not elegant at all, but with great presens. Lots of energy!
Perfect wine for the BBQ in the garden.
