Community Tasting Notes 5

April 5, 2013 - After a 30 minutes decant: Packed with concentrated berries, but without beeing sweet or fruity. Almost restrained. You need a heavy steak to go with this.
Kept up well for 4 days.
If you prefer it more mellow, wait mabe 3-5 years.
This is a very serious wine truly meant for aging.

December 7, 2012 - Solid dark berries with a lingering finish with some grip. Definitely not a sweet, syrupy syrah.

June 21, 2012 - Gave 3-4 hours in decanter. Nice nose of dust, must, old wood, and lingering warm sweet blackberry. Similar on the palate, but with an acidic edge that I can't quite call tannin. Can't help wondering if this will be better on day two. Better with food. We paired with some light veggie pizzas done on the grill. Day 2: This didn't go to any new places on the second day.

May 13, 2012 - This wine is improving. More fruity than previously. Give it another 1-5 years and this can be something very special, I think.

December 25, 2011 - This wine really made me curious on other American wines. Can they really be this good?
