April 14, 2024 - Medium to dark purple. Subtle, pensive nose of black cherry, black plum, pomegranate, mint, and forest floor. A lovely yet earthy expression. Super silky mouthfeel with said red fruit flavors and a little tobacco leaf on the finish. Wood spice is well integrated at this juncture. Works well with richly and subtly flavored foods.

March 25, 2022 - I was a little puzzled by this. In the beginning there was a lot of, not very nice, acidity in the finish, that i thought it was flawed. But much of it disappeared and I was wondering if this is closed, but I guess that it lacks fruit.
Jayer Gilles Echezeaux has always been a masculine expression of pinot from the center of this irregular vineyard.
Best feature is the nose with black cherries, earth and at times perfumed. The midpalate has decent fruit and there's a pretty finish with plenty of acidity, but more fruit would have been appreciated.
This wine can be stunning, i have had the 1990 on two occasions which i rated 97 p. and also 1995 is quite a wine, so i started buying this. But I think even 2004 is better than this. But anyway its tasty.

December 25, 2017 - Vin carafe pendant 1h puis bu sur 1h. Fermé, mais peu aromatique de toute façon

April 15, 2015 - Starting to evolve with notes of leaf litter and millipedes, tannins are settling down with a chunky cherry finish. Still with good fruit and I think ready for me at least.

November 6, 2010 - Quite dense and powerful, a little chunky. There are notes of blood plum and fruit stone. It has a nice bed of minerals and earth and is forceful and muscular on the finish.
