  February 6, 2022 - Cork broke halfway through, out came the cork extractor to the rescue—a trusty tool that doesn't see much use, but comes in handy in situations like this. Quite ripe tropical fruits on the nose with peach, papaya, and bruleed pineapple. In a very mature stage, loads of petrol, but a nice acid backbone to it.

  May 14, 2014 - Monthly Tasting Group HWS #089; Germany: Pfalz. (by MM): In the bouquet yellow tropical fruits, blossom, honey, grasses and some smoke. On the palate yellow and green apple, lime, grapefruit, limestone minerals, some marzipan and bitterness. A pleasant and complete, not too difficult German Riesling.

  April 29, 2013 - Pear, minerals, lemon. Finely balanced acids make the palate clean and fresh. Lingers long.

  August 7, 2012 - Very nice lunch wine. Dry, but not austere. Very well balanced. Acidity is ample and it definitely worked better with the food than on its own. Somewhat light on the palate, I kept looking at the bottle to make sure this is not a 2008, as the style is more akin to what one typically finds in 2008. Doesn't have the concentration and complexity of Rebholz's brilliant 2007 GGs. Even though a little more expensive, the GGs are much better value.
