May 2, 2019 - Dinner at PST (Chicago, IL): #05-90, 8% abv. Continuing my streak of corked old German wines; all the more tragic as this was the only bottle I owned.

October 12, 2018 - I think Dirk really nailed the description here. Nothing more to add from my side. Another stunning Auslese from the Schaefers which perfectly shows the combination of pure elegance and balance.

October 12, 2018 - Asperg Wine Syndrome Tasting Group: October 2018 edition: Tasted blind. Popped and pour. Clear, medium golden color, very youthful. Clean, medium+ intense, developing and very beautiful nose with fine yellow stone fruit, herbs, slate, some petrol. Every scent interwoven, delicate and refined.
Medium-dry with a lively, medium+ acidity that is perfectly integrated. On the palate very aromatic and refined, elegant yellow fruit, herbs and slate. Great texture, perfect balance. A very light and fragrant Auslese. So joyful to drink with a very long, lingering and delicate finish. Still very young with potential for another decade. What a great pleasure to taste two Mosel wines from this great vintage at the same night! 94-95 AP#05

February 6, 2016 - AP #5 (now the #5 is normally a spatlese, but not this). The label indicates this won a silver medal at the county fair. Shows a lot of earthy botrytis but very little tannic extract, some limey/peachy/pineapple fruit, nicely complex. This is nice but past prime, I think -- over a few hours it gets more botrytal and lime-tart.
