July 4, 2021 - There is a Charlie Trotter recipe where you caramelize a pot of sugar and stir in a quarter cup of lemon juice and this reminds me of the result. It's spicy, pungent, sour, burnt, and crystallized, uncanny how the intensity resonates here while also leaving an impression of lightness. None of that spilled-honey-in-my-gas tank, this is atomic fireball/sugar daddy/lemonheads and it cleans up after itself on the way out.

Footnote: Boston baked beans and those orange and black saltwater taffies were the shittiest.

November 23, 2017 - Fill 6 cm down. The very short cork was completely soaked from end to end, but using a Durand opener, I was able to extract it intact. Surprisingly dark amber color. Powerful spicy nose. Lucious creamy caramel in the mouth with a finish that won’t quit. Fifty years old, and while I won’t be around to see it, I’m guessing it’ll still be great 50 years from now if the cork is replaced.
