Community Tasting Notes 40

May 29, 2020 - Was gifted a very well-stored bottle of this. Cork in great shape and fill level good, but this was completely undrinkable. Clearly just way, way past its prime. Too bad...

April 12, 2015 - Not decanted. Clear garnet color. Initial bouquet of prunes, figs, stewed red fruit, tapenade. With air, the bouquet gained freshness and purity, steadily improving over two hours. Medium body, balanced, seamless, delicious.

March 25, 2012 - Well over its prime and tasting a bit funky but still had some nice notes

September 30, 2011 - I agree with other reviewers, sour at first, but mellowed once opened. past its peak.

February 2, 2011 - Afraid I had missed window, but pleasantly surprised. Dark brick red; leather and spices on the nose; medium body with a bit of dark fruit (blackberries) but mostly green pepper and herbs; nice lingering finish that brought notes of coffee. Interesting wine... too bad it was my last.
