September 29, 2014 - Dark gold. Oxidative nose yielding aromas of butterscotch, burnt sugar, and fresh apricots. The palate is full and charming, with good fruit concentration, turns bitter on the finish. Word was this was better day two. Drink up.

August 15, 2014 - There's a lovely wine here beneath the surface but its seriously oxidized. Hard to say its Premox given the wine is 17 years old and its a half bottle, but this is well and truly over the hill.

July 14, 2012 - Tasted blind, this wine had a yellow center and clear rims. The medium+ intensity nose featured green apples, almond paste, white stone, and soil. It was not obviously Chablis a first, but became more so with air.

It certainly needed 3+ hours of air to show its best. Afterward, it was medium bodied with nice richness, firm acidity, and good length. Overall, it exhibited nice balance and should improve with bottle age. I would guess it might add a point or so with another 5- 10 years.

January 28, 2012 - Clos and Clos: The OC Does Les Clos and Clos St Jacques (Marche Moderne, Costa Mesa CA): Tasted in the same flight that included the 95 and 00. This 97 is aging more quickly than both of those, and of course it is simply older than the 00 but I think that wine will go much longer in total than this 97. Good palate, which shows lemon, what seemed to me to resonate of pineapple, showing a some bronze in the color and some caramel. These 2 latter features are what lead me to my comment about aging, and this is a drink now Dauvissat.
