March 31, 2014 - Very light pinot from a big 2006 year... However, this pinot is quite elegant...touches of raspberry, pie cherry, and loads of baking spices. This would have gone well around the holidays, yet it did happen to accompany salmon quite well. Looking forward to opening more of White Rose's pinots from this vintage in the near future!

February 21, 2014 - Much as we generally love the wines from White Rose, I have to say this is one of the more (and infrequent) disappointing efforts. I have heard that the '06 is in decline, which might be a partial explanation. Nice clear ruby red initially, the aroma not as opulent as many and a little bit of funk, as is characteristic of the earlier vintages from this producer. Lots of candy fruit on the palate, which tends to fade rather quickly; not a lot of length or structure. I am being a bit picky; it is nice, not great.

December 20, 2013 - Great nose with some pencil shavings, earth, and some cherry notes. This is a lighter 2006 and the flavors were very well balanced and delicate. Notes of cherries, plumbs, baker's spice, cedar, and dusty features reminds me a bit of freshly harvested mushrooms. This wine would pair great with salmon...

August 22, 2012 - Opaque ruby color, medium to light bodied. Cherries, flowers and earth with a little bit of pepper.

October 24, 2009 - Willamette Valley Tastings 10-24 (Oregon): Some nice raspberry notes appear on the nose, but it's dominated by fresh, ripe, peaches. This isn't the syrupy scent of the canned peaches, but the crisp, slightly earth, rich scent of a perfectly ripe peach. The wine is lighter across the palate with flavors that hit a bit later. Apples and a bit of raspberry show up, and some nice acidity lingers for a while.
