October 19, 2019 - Not as exuberant as in its youth but therefore developing some tertiary aromas besides the cherries and garrigue. I think it will hold nicely for another decade, because it’s not over the top and in balance right now.

October 13, 2019 - Didn’t show as well w smoked chicken, potatoes. Decanted, maybe I shouldn’t have. Some heat, pepper and/or slight brett.

October 6, 2019 - Decanted for two hours. Juicy raspberry and plum notes with black pepper, rosemary and dried herbs. Long finish. Balanced with residual tannins. I like where it's at though: nice edge and bright, pure fruit.

August 20, 2019 - Pretty black cherry color. Showing initial bricking on watery edge.
Freshly oiled leather, violets, sweet black licorice, ripe fruit medley of plum and English strawberries, and not quite tobacco forrest floor on the nose.
On the palate, the first thing that hits you is the mouthfeel: viscous, sweet and layered. There is a burst of plum followed by sweet black licorice, a little astringent at first on the long finish (think orange rind) but that burns off quickly to a long, long finish of white and black pepper.
This is a very sophisticated wine. I would say at the apex of its drinking window. Couldn't imagine a better pairing with grilled fare (for me, a NY strip and grilled ciabatta).

August 2, 2019 - It's quite a rich wine that I found was better with food. It opened up over a few hours, so should cellar a bit more. Smells lovely. Nice wine.
