February 11, 2024 - After one tainted bottle, popped another which was simply terrific. Very cool red berry, herbal nose. The wine is medium to full bodied, concentrated, silky with red fruit, licorice, smoked meats, herbs and spice coming through. This has worn off its baby fat and there is no trace of heat despite the high alcohol levels. 2007 is interesting vintage where there are some terrific wines, and some that are really overcooked. This falls into the former.

December 27, 2023 - Saturated youthful looking dark reddish purple in color. Soaring aromas of black raspberry jam, incense, garrigue and dark florals. Full-bodied and rich palate shows waves of jammy black raspberries and cherries, spice box, graphite, medium acidity and a very long fruit filled finish. This is still holding well together.

December 23, 2023 - Bleeccchh! Oxidized, as I feared, and just like the last bottle, both purchased in August 2009 from garyswine.com and well-cellared since.

December 14, 2023 - too jammy, a little odd nose, past its prime

October 22, 2023 - Last bottle of my stash. This is my favourite cuvee from Janasse - but if I buy in future I'll steer towards cooler vintages with less alcohol and a higher acidity. This is so sweet it is on the edge of cloying. But excellent fruit profile and great length.
